Digestion - a process of elimination

How often do you actually think about the food that's being digested by your body?

Your digestive tract is the center of your body, and the foundation of your health. Every hormone, neurotransmitter, muscle fiber, skin cell and hair on your body is made from the food that you eat and that is why digestion, assimilation, and elimination is so important – you truly are what you eat.

 The next time you eat something, think about when your food actually becomes you.


Digestive problems can arise as you age, get caught up in prolonged stress, eat too quickly or on the run, forget to chew properly, or eat too much refined and rich foods, or just eat too much food in general.

Eventually, the proper secretion of your digestive fluids and enzyme production falters, compromising the breakdown of foods in the stomach and small intestine. Like any plumbing system, the digestive tract can begin to erode (leaky gut) or get backed up, resulting in chronic constipation with bouts of
diarrhea.

If elimination doesn't happen properly, you can't adequately absorb the nutrients you need and toxic waste matter can remain in your system leading to discomfort and lethargy and ultimately poor health.
